Dry Erase Marker Bouquet {Teacher Appreciation Gift}

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and Tuesday the 7th is Teacher Appreciation Day. My daughter loves her teacher and we wanted to thank her for all the work she has done for my daughter's class this year. I wanted the gift to be something her teacher could use, but still be cute. I came across this adorable idea for a Dry Erase Marker Bouquet from The Happy Scraps, and decided to make my own spin on it.

I picked up a pack of Expo Markers and a Gift Card from Target. I had everything else left over from my daughter's Lalaloopsy Birthday Party.

I used a fine tip Sharpie to draw around the edges of the foam flowers (from Oriental Trading Company), and just placed the tip of the markers through pre-cut holes in the flowers. I used tissue paper to hold the markers in place, and taped a wooden skewer (with the tip cut off) to the gift card.

I hope this little gesture lets her teacher know how grateful we are for all that she does!

Homemade Christmas Gift for Teachers

This week I sent my kids to their activities and schools with gifts for their teachers.
Nothing will ever truly express how much appreciate our children's teachers for all they do, but it is nice to show them that we are thinking of them during the holiday season.

I did two different things this year depending on how many teachers we were gifting to at each school.

For the schools where they have the same teacher all the time, I made little individual boxes of treats.

I found the adorable little boxes in the Target dollar section, and lined each section with a cupcake liner.
I then filled each section with a treat.  The treats included Chocolate Fudge, Samoa Pretzels, Slow Cooker Cinnamon Almonds, and Chocolate Kiss Pretzels.

I topped the box with our family Christmas card and tied it all up with some baker's twine (DIY baker's twine).

For the schools where they have the a lot of teachers for a short period of time (like karate), I made cookie trays.

I hope these small gifts let my children's teachers know that we really appreciate all they do.

Back-To-School Teacher Gift

Yesterday was my daughter's first day of kindergarten. She was a little nervous, so I knew I had to send her on a mission to distract her from me leaving. She loves giving people gifts, so I decided that if she had a gift to give her teacher she would forget about me. In addition, it would show the teacher how much we appreciate her.

While we were shopping for my daughter's school supplies, I let her pick out a few items that she thought her teacher would like.

 We decided on:

                     ~ Candy
                     ~ Hand Sanitizer
                     ~ BandAids
                     ~ WetOnes
                     ~ A Magnetic Tablet
                     ~ Calculator
                     ~ Stickers
                     ~ Pencils
                     ~ Dry Erase Markers
                     ~ Sharpies
                     ~ Pencil Sharpener
                     ~ Nail File
                     ~ Ruler
                     ~ Post-Its
                     ~ Tissues
                     ~ Tape
                     ~ Glue Sticks

To wrap everything I started with a basket from the Target Dollar section and added her teacher's name with vinyl that I cut with my Silhouette SD.

Then I added some tissue paper and helped my daughter stick everything in the basket. We had to take some of the items out of their packages to make everything fit in the basket.

Lastly, I made a gift tag and printed it out on cardstock. Then I laminated it and tied it on the basket with ribbon.

Sending my daughter on a 1st day of school mission was a success! She was very excited to go and give her teacher the gift, and no tears were shed.
