This weekend I completed our outside decorations.
I decided to go with a red and silver theme this year. I am really happy with how it came out!
For the swag on the door, I bought a premade swag and added a few floral picks and a bow.
I got the swag, picks (some new, some I had), and ribbon from Micheal's for about $10 all together.
The flower pots are the same ones I use year round and showed in my other porch post. I was going to remove the soil but decided it could be useful to hold my arrangement in place so I just left it be.
I used a full piece of pine garland I had in my basement and cut it in half to fill the top of the pots. For the lights I used 2 sets of Phillips 42" LED sticks. These were on sale for $20 a set at Target, so $40 combined.
The Christmas ornaments were the $5 shatter resistant sets from Target, and I used almost 3 boxes.
The bows, ribbon, large silver, large red, and small silver picks are all from Micheal's and cost about $18 for everything.
I recommend working with the large picks outside. Otherwise you will have glitter everywhere!
First I placed the lights where I wanted them and then I filled the pot with the garland.
Next I randomly stuck the picks everywhere and just made sure both pots were even.
Then I filled the pots with the balls.
I used double-sided tape to stick the ribbon to the pots, and tied the bows on with a twist-tie.
I decorated our banister with garland and bows that I already had. Although looking at it now, I think it might need some spicing up!
